Bore Tech Information
Proof Positive Benefits?
Bore Tech’s Proof-Positive feature is a major innovation in firearm cleaning, designed to eliminate false positive indications of copper fouling. Traditional cleaning jags and loops are typically made from brass, which contains copper. When using ammonia-based copper solvents, these brass components can react chemically, producing a blue or green color in the solvent. This color change often misleads shooters into believing there is still copper fouling in the bore when, in reality, the reaction is coming from the jag itself. Bore Tech’s Proof-Positive jags and loops are made from a proprietary, brass-free alloy that eliminates this problem. This means any color change in the solvent is a true indication of copper fouling in the bore, allowing for more accurate and reliable cleaning.
The Proof-Positive feature is particularly beneficial for shooters who demand precise barrel maintenance, such as competitive marksmen, hunters, and gunsmiths. By removing the interference caused by brass jags, Bore Tech ensures that users don’t waste time and solvent chasing false copper indications. Additionally, Proof-Positive jags and loops are precision-machined for a perfect patch fit, ensuring thorough bore contact and more effective cleaning. This leads to less solvent waste, reduced cleaning time, and a properly maintained barrel, which ultimately enhances firearm accuracy and longevity. For anyone serious about firearm care, Proof-Positive technology is a game-changer, providing a smarter and more efficient cleaning process.
Which Rod Size
When choosing a Bore Tech cleaning rod for your rifle, you need to consider the barrel length and action type to ensure you get the right rod length. A good rule of thumb is to select a rod that is at least 6-8 inches longer than your rifle's barrel to accommodate the action and allow for full stroke cleaning. For bolt-action rifles, measure from the chamber to the muzzle and add extra length for comfortable use. For AR-style rifles, you may need an even longer rod due to the upper receiver's design. Bore Tech rods typically come in lengths ranging from 36 inches to 50 inches, so selecting the right one depends on your rifle’s specifications.
